The voice of conscience is so delicate that it is easy to stifle it; but it is also so clear that it is impossible to mistake it.

You too can buy your own California island for a measly $2.8 million, but you may want to gut the interior!

A site where women post pictures of the men who are sexually harassing them on the street.

Overheard in NY

Little boy: No, I want them both! Mommy, you're a loser!
Mommy: Are you calling Mommy a loser? Well, then you're not getting
anything.
Little boy: No, I'm calling you a winner now! I love you!

Bush - "This is not going to happen on my watch." when confronted about leaving Iraq- So, we're there until January 2009?  Are you kidding me???  If we continue our pace, that's about 7000 more soldier deaths.  I believe in the "you break it, you own it" philosophy, but when you've got no action plan it's just plain ridiculous.

A MUST read article in the LA Times regarding conservatorship companies (or individuals) who take over elderly seniors finances and lives without their or their childrens' consent.  According to the article, once these people are appointed by the court, it's virtually impossible to get them out, their legal fees are paid by the senior whose life they hijacked.

With friends like these, you can get anything done.  An 18 year old gets elected Mayor because of a write in campaign. Wow!

Today, I thought I'd list all of my favorite sites that I thought worthwhile to pass on:

Bloglines - my favorite site, it puts all your favorite sites' new content in one place (provided they have RSS feed - hint to those like Mike2Cents and ParryShen who have mass appeal). ETA: Apparently Xanga is behind the times (boohiss), to add your favorite Xangans to Bloglines, use the following feed url before their username: http://xanga.com/rss.aspx?user=(enter username here).

Overheard in New York - hysterical accounts of conversations overheard from passerbys

TV Squad - reviews of episodes, spoilers, speculations on favorite shows (like Lost), etc

LA Eats with Maps - pairs Google maps with restaurant review - still new but growing

Ning - (the base application for the link above) a cool concept - allows users to sign up as developers and clone existing applications and customize - such as building a NYC restaurant review with maps

Stumble Upon - a little program toolbar - the best boredom killer - you select categories of websites you might like (photography, humor, politics, etc), then click on the Stumble! button and it takes you to a site someone recommended, based on choosing I like it! or Not for me! it starts showing you more of the sites you would like.

Today was the first day my mother spoke to me in 2 weeks, she thinks I've been avoiding her.   Cool, let's divert blame, whatever....

I feel like I'm behind at work, too much traveling and not enough time for followups.  I'm going to have to work this weekend sometime to catch up. Bleh.

Day 8 of the cold freeze: My brother had lunch with my mom and while she talked about everyone else in the family, she didn't bring me up once in the conversation.  It's sooooo petty.  You know, just because your parents are older doesn't mean they don't act childish.
